Witness statement under s 162 crpc

Does the prosection have a right to obtain copy of Witness Statement under S 162 CrPC? If Yes, sections/ judicial pronouncements in support of the same.

Obtaining a copy of the documents in a trial whether civil or criminal isa part of Evidence and a matter of Rigjt. One can file for a certified copy of:
1. Statement under section 161 of Cr.pc viz.. given before the police.
2. Statement under section 164 of Cr. pc given before the court.

Thank you for the information Sir, is this also applicable on witness, can the witness also get a copy of their statement? if yes, where has it been provided?

The witness can approach the public prosecutor for a copy or can file a third party affidavit and seek a copy of the same.

WHAT INTEREST DOES THE WITNESS HAS WHEN HE OR SHE IS NEITHER THE COMPLAINANT NOR THE RESPONDENT???
