Witness required inspite of genuine documents in title suit

In a title suit plaintiff have genuine documents (Deed) of the land and the defendant could not produce any document in the Court. But the advocate of the plaintiff said that he want a witness in the next hearing after which final hearing will be done and decree will be passed. If the plaintiff have genuine documents, why a witness is required?

Produce the witness and let them have satisfaction of their doubts.
