I own a shop and home in a A category building in Mumbai. How much will it cost to make a Will.

Virtually Nothing.

If you can draft yourself draft and get IT signed by two unshakable witnesses.

Just a piece of paper, a pen and 2 witnesses.

Preferably register IT.

Inquire fee fro O/o Registering authority.

The fee is reasonable.

IT is mandatory to probate the WILL in areas of Bombay, Calcutta, Madras.

The HC Bombay seems to have set a max. fee, and IT is good.

Add lawyer's FEE. This is to be considered for the beneficiaries and not testator.

If testator (you) want the WILL to be drafted by a lawyer then check with a very able senior LOCAL counsel of unshakable repute and integrity handling such/testamentary matters and well versed with provisions of personal law applicable in your case and having successful track record.

Will can be made on a plane paper and should be attested by two witnesses..both the testator and witness should sign it in the presence of each other.the language must be very clear without any scope of suspicion or doubt..like if testator is breaking the natural line of succession, he must ,very specifically mention the reasons behind such a thing..also the verification of it's contents is a must ..though registration not compulsory yet it is advisable as the registration fees is very nominal...
