What is the law on self earned property?

I have been trying to dig up the definintion on self earned/acquired property and I am confused. To give a specific example, say there is an ancestral property shared by 3 sons - 2 of which run the ancestral business and the third is employed in private sector. The property as a whole has not been partitioned off as all 3 get along well.

After sometime each of them acquire a property - the third son acquires using PF money from his private sector job. While the other 2 acquire property from the proceeds of ancestral business.

But then there is some quarrel and now the 3 want the ancestral property to be partitioned. In this case what will be included in the partition? Only the ancestral property? Or the ancestral property + 2 properties bought from proceeds in the ancestral business? Or ancestral property + all the 3 later acquired properties?
