What is meant by verification for marriage

Hi,

I am basically from Jabalpur Madhya Pradesh but working currently in Pune. Now i have a query. What do you mean exactly by verification for marriage ?

So me and my fiance we both work in Pune. She is from Nagpur, MH. We would be getting married in Jan 16, in Jabalpur in my hometown. I would have a very short time, maybe a day or 2, before i fly to Sydney for an onsite assigmment immediately post marriage. Hence i wanted to understand what is verification, is it the verification of my fiance from nagpur or pune, or it my verification from jabalpur or pune. What is the process involved etc.

Its about your marital status. Its an enquiry you may need to submit a letter stating that you are still a bachelor and are not married to any one.

Thanks, Helping Hand. But whats the process, I mean do I need to get a Verification Letter from anyone or any online check or like how we do police verification for passport. How is this thing done?
