Vacant post

Sir,

The Post of Assistant Engineer, Junior Engineer and Work Supervisor  at New Mangalore Port Trust is not Filled since June 2015.

There is no official written Comunication from Ministry or from Management of the Organisation.

it is difficult work with low staff. 

I have enquiry How Long a Permanent Post like Assistant Engineer and Junior Engineer or Others can be left Vacant?

should those Engineer should resign from job and try somewhere else due to low staff or wait further helplessy?

Whether Assistant Engineer can resign and whether it should be accepted when the suffecient staff to handing over or taking over is not available in place due to non recruitment of basic staff like Assistant Engineer and Junior Engineer.

It is not clear what are you (i.e what position do you hold) in New Mangalore Port Trust?

Resignation is personal decision…

The service conditions narrated in appointment letter, service rules may be looked into…

The resigning employee can ask in notice of resignation itself to whom employee should handover…

Generically speaking; HoD or superiors may come forward for handover…

In any case the establishment/employer/designated official is to reply to notice of resignation and communications of employee.
