I applied for a plot in a UP government housing scheme. I got it alloted in my name. Now I wish to get it registered in my name. But the office of the Development Authority which alloted me the plot, is saying that I need to mandatorily include my husband's name in the registry, acoording to some rule. Is there any Government order, law, act, rule or any sort of such which prohibits wife to register the plot solely in her name only ? Is it mandatory to register a plot (alloted by Development Authority of UP) in the name of both husband and wife ?
