Transfer of property

hello my parents both are pass away, we have one property of land n the name of my mother. we are two brothers only. we want to transfer the property in joint name of me and my brother.so What is the procedure we want to follow for transfer the property and what are the documents required for registration

if your mother had not left any will of her property then you have to obtain the legal heir certificate from the tehsil of your area and then you both have to move an application for mutation of your share you both are entitled for 1/2 share in the land , you can mutuated in your joint names also .
