Tenants in ownership flat

Hi,

I purchased an ownership flat 600 sq. ft in Mumbai.  While purchasing the flat the seller had informed me that one room of the flat was rented out and the tenant was paying a meagre amount as rent.  I had purchased the flat and the flat is now transfered in my name. Now, as I want to use the entire flat for my own use, can I request or give notice to the tenant to vacate the place?
