Summons to unknown legal heirs of lessor

How do we issue summons to unknown legal heirs of lessor ? We were paying lease rent to their agents in mumbai when all of a sudden they stopped accepting it. Now we need to now who the legal heirs are and where they reside. If we file summons by publication how will the court determine that the person responding is the legal heir and not an impersonator ? Will anyone without legal heirship or succession certificate be able to respond ? Please advise

I think it is also referred to as substituted service

T. Kalaiselvan, Advocate (Advocate)     19 June 2015

The procedure to be adopted for recognizing the legal heir who appears before court on seeing the paper publication will be decided by the court, you may file the petition before the court to permit you to deposit the rent before the court or to the person so ordered by court.
