Suit dismissed for default

can a defendant who has gained valuable rights in a partition suit apply to restore a suiit if subsequently it is dimissed for non appearance of Plaintiff / Intervenor? What happens to the orders already passed in the said suit? Is it as if the suit never existed? Thank you all in advance for the wonderful service you are performing in clarifying things.
