Street protest

Dear Experts

Recently group of around 100 men and women assembled at our apartment complex KG Signature City, Maduravoyal bypass to protest BLACK COLOR WATER  for drinking. Next day we went to Police Station and submitted petition and we were given CSR copy. In between The Inspecctor of Police threatened by saying if you go and block that road in front of your complex, we will remand you all for 15 days, but you do whatever you want and stop other works etc.

Is the legal system allows to remand 15 days for this.

We are witnessing every other day there are lot of street protest by policitical parties, other organizations and groups. Are all of them booked and sent to jail.

Please throw some light on this so that the people who still believe in democracy will get benefitted.

Thanking You All

Yes he can do that  and he has all the power to do that. You have to sort out issues with the concerned people and not by obstructing high ways, that is not in good taste. I do not think it is good to equate with others and justify your action. If you have perennial problem then escalate  the same to the concerned dept. or move high court and get reprieve for the same, rather creating nuisance to the public.
