Society name transfer after buying a flat

Hi,

I have bought a flat in a society at sector 49 Noida. Society has a board that it is approved by UP government  Lucknow. Society has all builder floors and independent floors.

After buying the flat i went to society office to change my name in society records, they asked me 25000 INR in cash but they are giving me receipt of 10 (ten) INR.  Society is saying if i do not pay then they can put a legal case against me.

I am not sure if i have any right here to pay for what i am getting receipt?

Thanks

It is wrong and illegal to claim more money and issue a receipt for a lesser money.  If the society if threatening that they will take legal action against you, ask them to proceed, allow them to initiate action in this regard and see what their demands are?, give a fitting reply through a lawyer to them.  They are supposed to collect the nominal fee fixed for name transfer as per the resolution for the purpose, they cannot do anything as they feel like, it is public money and they are responsible for it.
