Dear All,

I am relocating my industrial unit from the city limits to outside city limits. Since the shifting will take more than 2 years to complete due to various reasons, i am planning in the first phase to shift just my manufacturing line out of the current location and into the new location.

However, i wish to sell my products from the original unit itself due to its address being registered and approved as a vendor with various customers. Also, the raw material for the production will be purchased by the original unit for the duration of shifting as otherwise im told there are excise issues in terms of justifying the stock etc.

I would like to know, how is it that multi-corporate industries run multiple production units under the same name from different locations since that is basically what will be happening with my unit atleast till have i have completed the move.

Also, what are the various tax related headaches i am looking at for this duration?

Finally, taking into account another scenario where i decide to just shift my production line to the new address, but i keep my registered office at the original location, how do i handle the sales? can i sell from the new location but have the payments made to the original unit? or will i have to sell from the orinigal unit itself? What tax issues come into picture here?

Warm Regards.
