Rumours by Media

"Everything is going to an end on 08/08/08".

"Earth will spin in anti direction on 08/08/08"?

"Whether earthquake will end the universe on 10/09/08"?

"September 10 is the day that the world will hold its breath in anticipation".

"Set your alarms and kiss the kids goodbye, CERN will be providing a live webcast of the Large Hadron Collider's "First Beam" maiden voyage on Wednesday".

These are a few examples of news from MEDIA (Eloctronics & Print) & reality is much more.

Whether there is no Law to control/ ban the rumours spread by the media.

Whether it is Freedom of Speech ?

I think

The reach of media, in the present time of 24-hour channels, is to almost every nook & corner of the world. Further, large number of people believe as correct that which appears in media, print or electronic.

So

Some mechanism may have to be devised to check the publication.

Pls. give your views.

Yes its right  topic raised by our friend . Recently i have read in news paper that

MEDIA bigwigs and information and broadcasting ministry has decided that media should have self censorship in circulating news. But what is that self censorship who is coded it is unknown still now.

Media has made money on each and every thing which is  related to the pshycology of the society and they allways threaten us by delivering unnessasary news.

Media has made money on WTC, AFGAN WAR, IRAQ WAR, ARUSHI MURDERCASE .They didnt left any thing.

some law should be there to curb some channels like AAJTAK and star plus.

they allways speread unnessasary news which has no use for the society.
