They use call tracker software and find out callers name & address.

1. Police cant track ur realtime call.. they can merely get your call details.
2. No whatsapp cant be tracked, until unless spy or bot software is installed on your mobile.
3. Missed called can not be tracked even in CDR by telecom companies.

Yes police have devices to track the calls of the accused or wanted absconders or criminals and in the guise of such persons against whom they plan to take action in the name of legal action. How are you concerned with this?, what is the purpose of posting this query?

Tracking location using your cell location is possible. Police do it but only for criminal cases , not for 498a unless girl party have very high contacts.
Tracking whatsapp is not posible unless spy software is installed , evenwhatsapp company wont backup whatsapp messages as per my information .
Missed call can never be tracked by any mean.
