Registered land registration in govt record

I had bought a piece of land in Uttrakand in 2002 .I have the registry of the land but this month july 16 when I went to the tehsil office to get my land registered online in Uttrakhand Government sites I faced a problem that the sellers whom I bought the land ,died last year .Now the tehsil department is saying I have to register my case in the court to get my land registered online.Is it right way or there is another way to solve this problem.Is it not enough to have the registry to register for land record online in Devbhoomi.com . Is the registered land document become useless or they have validity .
