in Maharashtra, the "registration" of leave and license agreement is compulsory. But suppose it is not registered, is there any person(s) other than the landlord who is liable to be punished ?
The liability may be 3 months imprisonment or 5,000 rupees fine.
But one society member told me that if there are issues , even committee members like Chairman or secretary may face penalties/prison if some people in society are not having registered agreements. I found that quite ridiculous.
Can someone clarify that even such co-operative society committee members may face fines/penalties/prison sentences if some families are staying without registered leave and license agreements ? thanks..
