Power of attorney

Hi,

The person who I bought a property from is willing to give me Power of Attorney to get the property registered in my name. We are not related in any way.

The property is in state of Bihar. Can I get the Power of Attorney done in state of Maharashtra so that I can get the property registered in Bihar on his behalf.

Any advise will be helpful.

Thanks.

If you have bought the property in your name, why don't you get it registered in your name straightaway instead of going for power of attorney in your favor.  The power of attorney does not confers any title to the property in your favor and this deed can be revoked by the principal any time thereby you will stand losing your money and the property, time energy etc, hence it is advised in your interest to avoid power of attorney deed, instead go for the registration sale deed in your favor directly.
