Passport verification not done as promised

I got an email on 11th July from Passport Seva Kendra, Kolkata that police verification would be done withing 3 weeks. But it is more than a month now. Nothing has been initiated yet. Now, I would like to know, is the Kolkata police department is sleeping all day and night that they don't even spare some time to do their civil work which is their social responsibility?

I am running out of patience as I applied for the passport as I am planning to go abroad for job. Any delay will hamper my professional life and career. I would like to know what is the next step I should take to awake the police department of Kolkata.

Right a letter under right to information act to passport office and police department.

I think you need to contact nearest passport authorities for this problem. Second you can take information from you local police station. Hope they guiide you, dont wai more because you already waited too much. It will harm you.
