I am an Indian citizen.
I had gone to USA in 2000 with H1B Visa which was valid till 2001.
While in USA, I got my visa extended up to 2004 but I did not apply for getting my passport stamped about the extended visa.
I returned to India in 2003. My passport had not expired then.
My passport expired in 2011 and now I applied for renewal of my passport. During the renewal procedure, the passport officer asked me to produce my visa extension proof. I was not carrying it with me so I was not able to provide it. Now they have kept my passport on hold for renewal.
Now what should I do?
