Passport application query

I have recently applied for a fresh passport. However, during document verification i was asked to submit a fresh birth certificate because the original one that i had submited has my fathers surname differently printed than my school records. The difference is because of different naming systems in gujarat where i was born and kerala where my father was born. It is not possible for me to apply for a fresh birth certificate because i no longer stay in gujarat. Can i submit an affidavit instead along with the original birth certificate?

Hi,

if you can convince the passport authorities first try convincing them explaining them the change due to  naming  system statewise  and explain them it is the style of naming and not the name .try to meet higher officals if juniors do not convince.

if affidavit is reqd , you also check with passport authorities draft of affidavits so that your affidavit should match with their requirements .

The rule require that you should file an affidavit in this respect.
