Are the majority of Indians introverts or cowards? While China showcased itself (in the recent sports events) as a real super power with no imitations or borrowed technologies, we pat our own backs to believe that we also are a super power. We have got a tendency to dig to our history, history of Ramayana, Mahabharatha etc., just to make ourselves believe that the controversially moralistic past will carry us through forever. Is it not fact that we continuously fight amongst ourselves without a wider vision? We have fight for religions. Within the religions, we have community fights. Within communities, we have so many divisions and interdivisions fighting a never ending war. We have fights for state boundaries, district boundaries, taluka boundaries, village boundaries and finally for our house boundaries. Individuals build parties, forums etc. to showcase themselves as undisputed leaders and protectors when their only contribution to their own ilk would be slinging of mud on others faces and increasing the tension and animosity.  Any given subject is twisted by these people to suit such blame game in the name of freedom of speech. We have the higher castes blaming the lower ones and the lower ones blaming the higher castes for all the rots in the society. And we take solace that this is a world phenomena, conveniently forgetting that moralistic past which we claim credit! Why is it that we can’t have a beginning with a new slate? Will our grandchildren or the grand-grandchildren enjoy that elusive oneness? Can we have a healthy discussion?

We, as a Nation should learn from the memorable words of Adi Sankacharya who was quoted by Nani A. Plakhivala as one of the 12 greatest men who ever lived in any country in any age.He called him the Universal man in his book: We, The Nation. "In you and in me everywhere else, there is but one Vishnu."See yourseldf in all things, give up the false sense of difference from other human beings everywhere."
