Notice period recovery

I had joined my last organisation on 23 April2016 and left on 13 October2017. I had a clause in my employment agreement that if I leave the organisation before 18 months I have to repay the full amount of joining bonus . Also I only served 44 days of my notice period instead of 90 days . Now , when I have received my F&F the company has made a notice period recovery as well as a recovery of joining bonus . At the time of exit interview they didnt mention anything about the joining bonus recovery . Also if the company has made a notice period recovery doeant that implies that I have served a notice of full 3 months and that will result in a complete tenure of over 19 months and hence I dont need to pay a joining bonus recovery. Need help in this issue.

The action of the company in recovering the joining bonus and notice period salary is perfect.  Your understanding of the issue is not correct.
