Please Explain Whether a Notary is Gazetted Officer??? if i have to get Marksheets/Certificate Attested as specified in Bank Job By Gazetted Officer and their is no other State / Central Goverment officer who is ready to do it

YES NOTARY IS GAZETTED OFFICER , HE IS APPOINTED BY GOVERNMENT AND AT THE THE TIME OF APPOINTMENT HIS NAME IS PUBLISH IN THE GAZETTE OF THE RESPECTIVE GOVERNMENT THATS WHY NOTARY IS GAZETTED OFFICER. SO U SHOULD ATTEST UR DOCUMENT FROM NOTARY PUBLIC

Notary Public are appointed under the provisions of Notary Act by the State Government as well by the Central Government by publication their names in official Gazette. Though they are not public servant as other Gazetted Officer but they are empowered to attest and certify, documents instruments and administer oath under the provisions of said Act , for which they are entitled for prescribed fee as decided by the concerned appropriate government time to time.
