Notarisation of affidavit

I am required to submit an affidavit to Goa Municipal Corporation for correction in the names of my father and mother. Also details of names of my grandparents is to be included in the birth certificate. I have executed the affidavit on legal paper and affixed the requisite stamp duty purchased in Goa. Since I am unable to go to Goa for notarising the affidavit can I get the document notarised in Mumbai and then submit the same in Goa to the relevant Municipal Corporation. Kindly advise
