Non resident member in charitable society

Hi,

I intend to register a charitable society with resident and non resident Indians as members. Wanted to know if a non resident Indian can be a member and hold a position in a charitable society set up in India.

Under Society Registration Act, 1860 which was amended in the year 2001, non-Indian cannot join as Executive/Governing Body member.  the registration of Society is optional.  but it is better to register the society as it is useful.
