Mumbai High court jurisdiction

When recently my advocate went to file a case in Mumbai High court, he was told that for filing the case in highcourt, the address of the lawyer in mumbai is a must. He is staying in new mumbai. if it is true what are the remedies available to file the case in highcourt? I suppose this Bombay Highcout is for the persons staying in whole maharashtra.
