Respected Forum Experts,

Could you please enlighten me if there is any policy in india which defines the period for which

medical records of patients are kept by Nursing Homes / Hospitals.

1. What is period of retention for out-patient records

2. What is the period of retention of In-patient records

3. Any specific guidelines for record keeping of cases which has legal angle also like MTP etc.

4. Any other knowlege which Respected experts would like to impart

Thanks very much in advance,

I noticed your query now only. just go through the below link. it will help you to understand date retention policies in India. there is no  specific state or central legislation for this.

Thanks and regards
