We live in a 20 year old society with building and independent bungalows. We live in one of the bungalows.
Till date major repairs for the bungalows have been carried out by the owners indepandently.
Recently, in the AGM, a resolution was passed to increase the monthly maintainance by Rs. 1.50 /sq ft. Reason being that the major repairs of the building needs to be carried out which amount to about 30 lacs. By increasing the monthly maintainance by the said amount the Managing committee intends to carry out the major repairs in about 3 years time.
Now, my query is:
Why should the bungalow owners who have been carrying out their own repairs pay the increased maintainance cost?
How can we tackle this situation?
