Maintenance for minor son

Dear Members, This is a case where wife filed 498A case against husband and staying apart from husband for almost 6 years.She wants to file maintenance case against husband for son as he doesn't provide any money for his upkeep. Now, will the court entertain such requests,if placed by husband,that he wants to stay with them but wife denies and hence won't pay maintenance? Can the the 498 A be dragged into maintenance case?
