Lookout for Head Corporate Leagal

Hi,

I am Hari Working in a leading executive search firm & i am in lookout for head corporate legal for one of the leading engg company in Chennai .

15+ years of experience out of which it is desirable that the last 3 to 4 yrs should have been ideally in the in the engg industry / sector in Corporate role.

• Excellent legal and Compliance domain knowledge is a must

• Overall Supervision and control of legal department

• Lead and direct the legal function in order to ensure effective management of legal, contractual and compliance issues, support to identify and mitigate legal related risks for organization’s operations.

• Devise and implement legal standards, processes, systems effective policies and procedures that ensure that legal risks are managed appropriately within the business.

• Provide legal and related strategic advice regarding the actions and measures necessary to secure/facilitate compliance with the legal matters related to laws, rules & regulations.

• Lead legal due diligence and drafting of agreements for mergers and acquisitions undertaken by Company. Be primary interface with the subsidiary legal team.

• Handling all aspects of the corporate legal function which include implementing legal standards processes, systems, effective policies ensure legal compliance legal due diligence, drafting vetting negotiation and finalization.

• Ensure legal compliance in the organization thereby facilitating good corporate governance and protecting Company’s interest in litigation and documentation

• Develop and impart training programs for creating legal awareness among internal customers.

• Liaisoning with the company’s legal advisors, legal panel. Supervise and coordinate the conduct of various court cases of the company across the country and businesses.

• Identify emerging regulatory and legal issues and developments and to make appropriate recommendations.

• Play active role with respect to government relations activities development of lobbying and other strategies key to success of the Company’s business.

• Coordinate and work closely with external counsels, wherever necessary on legal advisory intellectual property, arbitration, litigation/consumer matters and ensure efficient and effective handling of disputes.

• Maintaining sustained contact with legal professionals and government officials for initiating/following up on legal procedures and finalizing various legal agreements/matters.

• Responsible for advising management & conducting research on various matters involving diverse provisions of law and furnishing legal opinions.

• Keep abreast of the latest legal, regulatory and case law developments affecting the business, inform and educate the business and contribute to the know-how database

• Management Reporting and maintaining database of legal matters.
