Hi,
Please let me know the legally allowed limit to increase rent during rental agreement renewal in Bangalore. My landlord want to increase the rent by 35%(Rs. 5000/-) as part of the renewal and the previous agreement quotes only 5%. This is completely unfair and I need some help in taking this up. I infact agreed to pay upto 20% increase, but he is not accepting.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

you have to go to the court to get relief.

you can resort to rent control law to get relief . The Karnataka rent cotnrol Act 2010 should be refered.
