I am wokring in an IT industry since three years and have been staying in bangalore in a girls PG since 1 and half years.
We have no legal agreement for the PG i am stying in.
From past 3 months our PG owner has made lot of changes in our PG. they are
1) made electricity bill exclusive of the rent we are paying.
2) Changed the number of occupants from 6 girls to 9,
3) decreased the rent from 6000 to 4600 since the Pg now became 9 sharing
4 ) has taken out furniture which was used by us since more than 2 years
Now after all this in less than a month she is again increasing the rent from 4600 to 5000 for all the girls!
Can anyone tell us if this is allowed for PG owners to make soo many chages in the Pg in such short period??
Are they allowed to increase the rent in just one month again?
Is there no law in india which defines the Do's and Dont's for the PG owners
Also i doubt the PG owner has any legal permit to run the PGs.
Could you please help me in this? I just want to know how can we stop the PG owners from harrasing us every month.
