Land purchase suggestion

Hi Experts,
I am planning to buy a land in Orissa.I have verified one of friend's brother inlaw land.He is a christian.One think I marked in his both registry and mutation paper cast mentioned as a "Christian(General)".I am general cast.
1. So, is right to purchase that land? In orissa Christian are consider as a SC/ST.
2. Is christian a cast ?

Sir, I am planning to purchase a land.The land owner has cast mentioned as "Christian(General)" in his both registry and mutation paper. I am from general cast.So, is it right to purchase that land? In orissa Christian are considered as a SC/ST.So,there won't be any problem during mutation.
