Joint home loan with a friend

I want to purchase a property with my friend and want to take a joint home loan for that. Is it possible to take joint home loan with a friend who is also co owner of that property. And can we both apply for tax benefit for the same.

Please advice.

Thanks

If the said property is co-owned by 2 friends both can avail loan/joint loan as in query.

Approach the lenders and chose the best offer.

Home itself is known as a place for group of people live in domestic relationship either in the form of joint family or unique family.
Whereas male-2 or female-2 is recognized but male-female friendship is not recognized by law of science.

What is this recognisiton and law of science?
