Is there any alternative for reservation?

Hello everybody,

There is a lot of debate going about reservations after the Supreme COurt judgment today.

Is reservation a must in the present day scenario? Or do you think that we can have some alternative methods to bridge the gap between the people? Please comment on this.

In my personal opinion the provision regarding the reservation should be abolished. Our present day's reservation is nothing but the reflection as well as the continuation of what we have had followed since the realm of Aryans; Brahaman, kshatria, vaishya and shudra were the four prime casts by which the society was reserved. Accordingly rights and privileges were also restricted and demarcated. Time has changed itself but the system of reservation has unfortunately become perpetual; the reservations made by the Aryans have metamorphosed it into the reservations made by the Supreme Court. My opinion obviously is not any how either to oppose or to extenuate the verdict of Supreme Court, actually what I want to mean is that by creating the quota or reservation policy indirectly the SC has been depriving the real talents. Opportunity should be equal for all from the classroom to the corporate world, from soil to heaven; so that the right candidate can find himself or herself free from all obstacles and can grow up with an expectation of a bright and deserving future. As a fruition of reservation we often find a most nondeserving and inefficient candidate to hold serious chair despite having zero qualities except one that he/she is reserved (SC, ST and OBC etc). We should look towards the National interest which could never be subservient to the individual interest. Nation is in need of a right candidate irrespective of any cast and religion. Having regard to the National interest, the reservation, if it is felt necessary to be made and followed, should be based upon the financial predicament of the inhabitants instead of based upon cast or religion. So that the paucity of finance does not appear as an encumbrance, resulting and obviating a death of a real and deserving talent. Talents are not accidental, nor India is in lack of talents. However the intentions to deprive those talents are abound and evident. Sometime the decision of Supreme Court appears in the guise of punishments but we have to court them without any option. The present decision of Supreme Court is not an exception to it. Hence, in such circumstance I would definitely vote for not to the alternative of reservation but for its ultimate abolition.

yes, the reservation is must for the upliftment of weaker sections.

if not, the entire resources must be in the hands of the state, by which the equality can be achieved, in view of socialistic pattern society.

the state should not delay in periodical revision as to nessecity of reservation. but cotinuence of reservation has become unavoidable evil of democracy. curse to vote polytricks.

Here are few lines of a hindi poem that i wrote in student life:

"ab bhi prachur prakash chhipa hai es andher nagari me,

lekin pratham upay he pyarey, apna ghar jalakar dekho.

tadap rahi hai sachchai, vidhi ka kavach hatakar dekho,

nyay ke thekedar hai jo, unko abhiyukt banakar dekho.

samata ke itne visham prayog loktantra me hote hai,

nyay kah raha samvidhan se, samata khand hatakar dekho.----"

Yes. Someone may be in favour of case based reservation adn another lobby may be in favour of economic reservation. Some states even following the policy of shutting doors of residents of other states in state employment and all have a justification lying in the concept of "eqaul protection of law" "equality of treatment under equal circumstances". Some people are in favour of gender based reservation.
