Is it mandatory to execute rent agreement on stamp paper ?

Software Engineer

My wife holds a commercial property. I want to start a proprietary business out of that place in Ahmedabad. For Shops and Establishment Act and SSI Registration we have to provide rental agreement. Is it mandatory to have this 11 mo rental agreement on stamp paper? If so, in what denomination?

1) stamp dutyis different for every state to state.

2) As per registration act property whose value is more than 100 Rs need to transfer then it should be regisered.

3) If it is not registered then the document is void in eye of law. In order to enforce ur right the document must be registerd by paying stamp duty and registration charges.

Thanks

It is mandatory to make Rental Agreement on Stamp Paper however talking about the Monetary Value of Stamp Paper for Agreement then there is a different value for the Articles in each state. For instance- the value of Stamp Paper for Agreement in Delhi is Rs. 50/-, so you need to check out from your State that What is the prescribed Stamp Duty for Agreement.
