Is it illegal to lend money if you dont have a licence?

If money lending is not your licensed business it is illegal to do it. But recovery of any money lent by you is a different matter.

If you lend money in normal course of life, as we all do, then it is not illegal.

But, if you are doing money lending business, then it is illegal, as you are not following the law laid down for such business and be clear it will not effect the case, whether it is your primary business or secondary.
