My sister Sweety Makwana is in Sydney, Australia. Her 3-year-old daughter Twisha Makwana is born without food pipe and has undergone 20 surgeries in Australia. The only treatment available in US will cost her $1.2 million. To raise funds, she opened a charity in Australia - Mission Twisha Inc where she has able to raise $2,00,000.
Her NRO account in India is also getting donations. Her worry now is that the donations in this account is taxabale. Is there a possibility that she gets exemption? Or do we need to open a charitable trust for the purpose? If yes, how do we open it?
