My friends great grand father had Agriculture land and house at Malavan in Maharashtra. He had three sons, my friends grand father was the youngest. According to the then custuom aftergreat grand fathers death his elder son acted as Karta and all the land transferred tohis elder son's name. then to the elder son's second and third generation without any partition or giving share to their coparcners. they are joint family but liviang at various places doing service, mainly at mumbai. now last member has sold land hiding information as sole survivor, without consulting others. can my friend get his due share? he has one third share in the land. their names are not registered on the 7/12 extracts. can they register now and get their share in hte land?
please give suggestion. what is the proper procedure.
