It is not clear where you want to buy Agri land now. If it is in Karnataka, Karnataka land reforms act applies. You need to have held agri land in any part of the country since 1973 ( ie. including your father and family in case you are younger ) and non agri income per anum of the total family now should be less than Rs.25 lakhs per anum.
