Home loans

HDFC sanctioned a home loan in Dec 2015 for purchase of a house site from a Real Estate promotor with whom they had tie up.

There was a heavy delay in finalising the project between the promotor and HDFC and hence HDFC also delayed release of the loan to the lonee.

When the project was finalised, the loan was released after due agreement etc.

HDFC is claiming a second processing fee on the plea that a certain period has elapsed since the initial sanction of the loan and they are claiming it as over due, etc.

My opinion is that they cannot claim a second processing fee as the delay in release of the sanctioned loan is purely their own internal matter and they should not have approved the loan initially in a haste pending approval of their project.

Brothers may opine.

Dear V.Rajendran,

They cannot charge you the amount towards processing fee for the second time. in case of such issue, you can approach the Banking Ombudsman for adjudication.
