Holding of two chairs one as corporator and other as mla.

HI everyone,

I am a law student from mumbai. Here on this Forum i would like to ask u all a question related to politics and code of conduct of politicians. Friends I want to know that If any person is elected as a corporator at Municipal Corporation and subsequently the same person is also elected as MLA in Assembly elections. Then in such situation What is the time period limit within which a Corporator has to give resignation from his office after getting elected as MLA? Or Whether he is allowed to hold both Office ? if not then what are the provisions under which he is liable if he does not resign? What action can be taken against such illegal holding of office?

I am posting this question on this portal with a big hope to get reply from senior lawyers and also from those who has knowledge of subject matter.

Regards,

DT
