Re Gujarat Entertainment Tax, I need to know the following:
I'm aware that under the amended Section 3 of the Act, the upper ceiling on the rate of entertainment tax in Gujarat is now 25 percent. However, it is also stated that the State Government may notify the rate of tax with respect to each entertainment. Can someone shed some light on what activities the State Government has notified and what are the applicable rates of tax on such activities?
I'm in Bangalore and have been in touch with the entertainment tax dept in Gandhinagar and they don't seem to know too much about this offhand.
I'd appreciate any help on this. Also, if someone can provide copies of these government notifications that would be very helpful too.
Additional info - Can someone also tell me whether "video games" and "amsuesment parlours" or such similar activities are notified by the State Government for levy of tax.
