Grandsons right in grandfather's property

My grand father died in 1997 without any will.

My grand father has a wife and two sons.

The sons did not take any right in property and given NOC for transfer of property in the name of his mother (Wife as above).

My father is alive.

Can I claim right in my grand father's property as grand son

The NOC might be just for enteries in mutation records. If it is so you may have a chance.

If the NOC stands for valid relinquishment deed then it is a different matter.

However you may consult an able counsel and show all docs on record.
