My brother who lives abroad has given me a GPA. It is registered. Now i am selling a property on his behalf. the buyer of the property insists that i must submit the registered GPA to him. Should I give it to him. If so why should I ?

Dear Vyjanathi,
you don't have to part the original GPA to the Buyer or to any 3rd party. However, you can give the copy of GPA to the Buyer(by certifying as True copy from (notary) lawyer or any gazetted officer). The GPA hold by you is your own document and can be revoked/cancelled by the person who is appointing you as attorny to his property.

If the instant GPA is issued specifically to administer and dispose off the only one instant property then after making the sale deed in favour of the buyer you may deposted/impuned the same with the Registring Authrotiy.
The buyer has no right to demand the original GPA.
