Foreign national is being cheated by indan agency

Hello. a friend of mine from Russia came to Delhi for working for a agency which makes arrangements for wedding and likewise. They told her to come on tourist visa and employed her. She worked for them for 3 months but they didnt pay her. When she asked for salary, they refused to give her. She has no money whatsoever and they threatened her that if she goes to police or embassy, no one will help her because they have connection with everyone. She feels helpless and scared. What can she do in this situation? she is scared that since she is on tourist visa, she cant work here legally and cant ask for legal help. if she does, she will be arrested in violation of visa rules. Can anyone please give some advice ? She has no money to live somewhere or buy foods !

As you rightly pointed out, she can nt work legally in absence of a work visa.

She is left with no option but to forget the salary because she worked illegaly and you obviously can notlegally claim for the same.

Many Indians work outside illegally on their Vacations just to recover the holiday expenses but your totally at the mercy of the Employer since you are on tourist visa.

If she filed police complain she will be biting her own foot. Just forget the money.
