Fir case - should i trust police on this-

hello,

I have a gold theft case of aroud 10sovereigns (stolen from my house by a domestic help in our presence) 2 yrs back and case still pending at court in tamilnadu.all facts and evidences provider but the accused was so smart. even accepted at some point he is the only target. initial enquiry done and no progress after that/ at the least, police is not revelaing information. 3-4s inspector hve changed already and each one is just inquiring.

latest update from police says that a case EEIR no XXX/XXXX has been registerd at the local court. no chargesheet filed yet and no timeframe given in RTI. 380IPC section was mentioned. what does EEIR mean? is it same as FIR number.. does it mean the case is with the court and being monitored by the judge..

i tried searching with that number at the concered court in ecourts but could not find anything--

what shoud be by next steps here-

1. should i wait and trust police efforts here( have been sending emails to higherups and CM cell).

2. meet the public prosector at the concerned court?

3.file RTI/sending followup to higher ups

4. meet commissioern of police (what is the procedure )

5. is there any chance of recovery at all, inspite of waiting this long..
