Employer did not pay salary since many months

My employer did not pay me full salary for about 5 months citing financial issue.

I got frustrated and resigned. Now he says he will not pay me entire amount but only about 70% of all pending salary. He is not willing to give any time line for paying salary.

I have salary slips in email which also clearly mentions that salary is pending. I also have bank statement which shows I have received only partial salary from last many months.

I also have appointment letter in email which clearly mentions my designation and salary amount which I should have received everything month.

What action can I take against my previous employer and how much time will it take for him to release my pending salary.

send a complaint to the labour commissioner which is nearest to your office.

First issue a polite letter demanding the salary through regd post, wait for such response.  Settle yourself, continue efforts through a local advocate or Trade unions to know the best and cheapest way of recovering the amounts.
